As a Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Organization based in the heart of Oklahoma, we are dedicated to empowering our active duty, and veterans to lead high quality lives with respect and dignity. Encouragement for camaraderie and a place of community. The purpose of the Oklahoma Warriors Veteran Hockey Association, is to give wounded or injured active duty and veterans the opportunity to play hockey in a safe and adaptive environment.
Statistically 22 Veterans succumb to suicide every day. The goal is to reduce that number drastically here in Oklahoma, by the healing through sports initiative. Many men and women in all branches of the United States military, experience some form of post-traumatic stress disorder, in addition to various other mental and physical disabilities due to their time in service. OKWVHA aims to provide a way to help them out of the dark hole with a sense of team and purpose.
